Redeemer Church exists to pursue the glory of God and joy of all people through worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission. We are building something here. We are building worshipers. We are building relationships. We are building disciples. And we are joining God in the building of His kingdom. For this reason, we call our mid-week ministry “BUILD.” On Thursday nights we gather together to build. Right now BUILD has two key ministries: Redeemer’s Kids and Evangelism Training.
Redeemer’s Kids is our ministry to children. They meet for music, prayer, teaching, Bible memorization, and games. The adult volunteers lead the children and purposefully point them toward Christ in the various activities. The RK ministry is seeking to build within each child knowledge of God, reverence for God, and love for God.
The purpose of the Evangelism Training is to equip Christians to effectively preach the good news of the Christ to people in our community. Robby Joplin leads this ministry on Thursday nights and primarily utilizes The Way of the Master evangelism material. We are praying that God will build us up in Gospel savvy and Gospel courage.
We envision BUILD to be a fluid ministry in the months and years to come. By that I mean that we anticipate leading different kinds of ministries inside and outside the church facility during the week. More than anything else, we desperately want to obey Jesus’ words, “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” We want to be used by the Lord to effectively build His kingdom. So our commitment is to remain prayerful and sensitive to the leadership of the Holy Spirit as we seek to build the body of Christ.
“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…” (Ephesians 4:11-12, ESV).
